TODDLER SEWING BOX

It is somewhat difficult at times to get stuck into a project without little hands trying to play with my stuff, so today I made George his very own sewing box. As he is only 2, I have had to be creative with what to put in his sewing box. So I went for plastic needles, wool, an embroidery hoop, the matting used to keep rugs from slipping and some card and foam sheets that I have punched holes into. The rug mat I used in an embroidery hoop as it has much larger holes than the cross stitch fabric. With the wool and large plastic needles it looks like mummy’s cross stitch which makes him happy and means I can get on with some work. It is also great for his hand to eye co-ordination too. The hole punched card and foam sheets work with the same principle just a different pattern for him to work with.

Here is a picture of his ‘cross stitch’ hoop
